Rats thrive with a rat friend (or two). Keep them in same‑sex pairs/groups for wellbeing, then add hammocks and climbing to keep those clever brains busy.
Size first: if your bird spends a lot of time outside the cage, aim for at least 1.5× their wingspan in width/height/depth. Mostly cage‑based birds should have ~2× wingspan in all dimensions.
Rabbits are social grazers and do best with a compatible companion; keeping them in pairs/groups reduces stress and improves wellbeing. (If a rabbit must live solo for medical reasons, commit to daily human interaction.)
