I am an exhibition budgerigar breeder KVM1.
I have breeding budgerigars since my teens on and off. I changed to all wire breeding cage in 2004. I think they give the birds more of a colony effect like in the wild because they can see all around them as well as other pairs. I also think that hens are brought into breeding condition because they can hear babies hatching around them. I have had some of my best breeding seasons using them. They are very easy to clean out and almost no maintenance except at the end of the season with a good jet wash. They take up very little space out of season and can be collapsed down and stored easily. I replace mine every 3 years or so and recycle the old ones to juniors or beginners. Excellent product.
