The cage/parcel arrived promptly. The package was damaged and bits of the cage protruding through the cardboard box.
Some of the cage side lips were bent requiring me to bend them straight for it to be put together. Cage looks good built.
Easy to put together, really easy to clean, love it! Have added my own wooden shelves for my degus and it works really well.
Ive had 3 cages in the last 6 months as I wasnt happy with any. It had to fit the space I had available, have enough space for two large male rats and have good access for cleaning and handling. After trying so many, this one is my perfect cage. I will only give 4 stars as one side was buckled and i couldnt wait for replacement part (as my rats chewed through bottom of their last cage and it was a matter of tike before they escaped). I bent it back with the back of a hammer and its still very sturdy and durable. Great price, too!
Brilliant cage ordered it on yesterday( Tuesday) and it arrived Wednesday morning . Easy to assemble . My two chinchillas are very happy with there extra space . 100 % would recommend
Was a bit bent by the wheel but I still manage to build it by myself. £20 CHEAPER than amazon. My chin loves it and big enough for 3.
Great product, easy to put together (once we unbent it all! We would have returned it if we didn’t need it urgently. But yeah other than that we love it 🙂
Negatives:
– The cage itself is of “ok” quality. I found that some of the side panels were slightly warped but after I attached and tightened my own wooden shelves this was pretty much fixed. This also helped with the strength of the overall structure. The top of the cage delves inwards slightly also but isn’t really much of an issue.
– Due to the slight warping, the long strips of metal that you use to fix the sides to one another had to be forced on. I don’t believe it would be very easy to dismantle the cage if required.
– The tool which comes with the cage to tighten the bolts did not fit any of the bolts on the cage (it was to big). So you will need your own to assemble the cage.
– The instructions were in Chinese (literally) with a few steps underneath in English. The name of the parts are all in Chinese so you have to use your initiative as to which bolt should be used as per the English instructions.
Positives:
+ The cage looks smart once constructed and I changed the doors round so they flap down rather than up (pliers required).
+ Tons of space to add multiple levels. This is really handy if you can’t have a long cage due to the space available to you.
+ Wheels allow the cage to be moved around freely. They work better than I expected (seems like a daft point but it will be really handy for us!)
Verdict:
Overall I’m pleased with the purchase. As long as you are ok with building a cage with minimal instructions you should be fine. I put the cage together on my own and it took me about 30 mins. I expected the overall quality/finish of the cage to be a little bit better considering the full price is advertised as £165 but I can’t really grumble for the price it is sold at.
I would recommend this cage if you are limited for space and want something that is functional and looks smarter than a standard cage.
Love the cage size. Love how easy to clean it is. It’s not quite as easy to build as the video suggests but not bad.
HATE the doors there very difficult to open and close, the shelf’s also are difficult to put on and stay on.
Overall it’s ok, I wish it could be improved as the size and space and easy cleaning is good.
Please beware when you slide the cleaning tray out the base of the cage drops slightly, pets can’t escape when your cleaning it out!!!
Ordered this cage for my two little rats. The measurements are perfect for my small room and give the girls plenty of space to climb and run about. Package arrived quickly and it took me all of 5 minutes to put it together on my own. Very simple but don’t expect any help from the ‘instructions’. As others have said you will have to make some alterations as the shelves are not suitable as they are. I removed the shelves and made replacements and removed the wire bottom.
Only reason I’m not giving this 5 stars is because like with the others the sides were slightly bent which was a very easy and quick fix and the cage is a bit uneven, not completely square.
All in all, very happy with it, it looks very smart and is sturdy enough.
Bought this for my rats and while being a great shape and design like a lot of other reviews mine arrived very bent.
Had to do some twisting and hammering to get the panels to straighten up.
Perhaps they have been strapped to tightly or bent in the manufacturing process ?
